Generic Exforge HCT® launch

On Monday, December 1, Teva Pharmaceuticals launched the generic equivalent of Exforge HCT® tablets (amlodipine valsartan hydrochlorothiazide).  The Teva item will be added to the OneStop program in the primary position with visibility in McKesson Connect tomorrow, December 2. Estimated brand sales of Exforge HCT are approximately $168M.

Regarding OneStop Program Enhancements:
New AC Designations & Invoice Messaging

To strengthen our continued business partnership with you, our customers, the OneStop Generics program is taking steps to improve ordering transparency and provide rapid access to information.

During the first week of December, we will be rolling out a number of program enhancements, including descriptive codes for items in the AC Slot, and more detailed invoice messaging.

Here is an overview of the upcoming program improvements:

New AC Designations

Beginning the first week of December, items currently labeled AC (Alternate Choice) will display a new 2-letter code on McKesson Connect to provide more clarity.  Customarily, AC items are products that are on the OneStop portfolio, but not part of automatic substitution.  These new designations will indicate WHY each item is prevented from substituting. 

The new codes are as follows:

• CP: Customer Preference – Items for which there is a demonstrated customer preference for a certain manufacturer.
• MF: Manufacturer – Items that have been added to OneStop to provide customers access to an alternate supplier and/or to supplement the inventory of our primary OneStop supplier.
• PD: Product – A product attribute prompts McKesson to carry more than one version of the product - (e.g., flavor, color, alcohol free, Registry Drug, NTI, alternate pack size, specific Medicare/Medicaid coverage).
• NR:  Not Rated – The filing pathway or another circumstance results in a generic with no AB rating, such as items that go through the 505(b)(2) approval path.

Items not falling into these categories will retain the existing AC designation. 

A* will also continue to display as the designation for an exclusive item.
