The Alliance of Independent Pharmacists of Texas and APCI today announced the two entities have entered into a partnership. This new legislative and advocacy collaboration will further unify independent pharmacy in Texas and enable APCI members to have a stronger voice at the state’s Capitol.
As APCI’s presence continues to expand within Texas, the need for a strong, unified voice in Austin is crucial for it’s growing membership. The partnership between APCI and the Alliance will be a powerful coalition, working closely with one another’s Legislative Team and Board to advocate for both APCI members in Texas and independent pharmacy in general.
The Alliance is a statewide nonprofit professional association whose mission is to ensure the viability of independent community pharmacy in Texas. “APCI’s decision to unite with the Alliance underscores their shared commitment to unify independent pharmacy in Texas,” said Anjanette Wyatt, Pharm.D., president of the Alliance and owner of Clinical Care Pharmacy in Houston. “Teaming up with APCI to provide their members a voice at the Capitol will advance our efforts and create greater outcomes for all independent pharmacists.”
“After researching all of our options to engagement of our Legislative goals, the Board felt that this was a great option for us," said Bill Eley, APCI’s Director of Legislative Affairs. "Having a partnership with the Alliance, we will be able to assist our Texas members while helping all independent pharmacy. APCI looks forward to this partnership and working with the Alliance in Austin."
APCI will provide support to the Alliance’s legislative and advocacy efforts during the upcoming 84th Texas Legislative Session.
