MERGER-  Aetna (BIN 610502)/Coventry First Health (formerly Medco/BIN 610014) - New Aetna Medicare Part D plans/networks, effective 1/1/2015

APNS bid very aggressively for participation in all Aetna Medicare Part D networks for 2015; We did not gain acceptance into Aetna’s preferred networks.

APNS pharmacies are participating in the following Aetna Medicare Part D networks for 2015 – These are NOT preferred networks:

  • Aetna Medicare Rx Premier(PDP) – BIN 610502
  • First Health Part D Premier Plus (PDP) – BIN 610014

APNS member pharmacies were notified of these new Aetna Medicare Part D networks on November 20, 2014.

Aetna patients affected by the Aetna/Coventry First Health were given 60 days prior notice of these changes and along with a listing of pharmacies they would be able to use.

ACTIONABLE ITEMS:

For Medicare Part D Patients:

We encourage you to direct your patients to call CMS and voice their concern regarding the disruption they are experiencing with preferred networks.  The voice of Medicare Part D members will be heard.  CMS is required to follow through with every complaint received.

The number for Medicare member complaints is 404-562-7500.  Upon calling, patients need to choose option 2 for part D and then option 1 to speak to a representative.  They should get a representative quickly.

For APNS Member Pharmacies:

We encourage APNS pharmacy members to contact their US Senators and US Representative to express your concern regarding patient disruption at your pharmacy.  The following link is a quick resource for locating contact information for your representatives:
