PROGRAM UPDATES

2017 UnitedHealthcare TIP Challenge

UnitedHealthcare's annual TIP Challenge is back for 2017. The challenge will focus on Needs Refill and Needs 90-Day Fill TIPs, with each organization's performance compared to its peers in three size categories:

  • Regional Chain: ≤200 pharmacies
  • Medium Chain: 201-899 pharmacies
  • Large Chain: ≥900 pharmacies

New for 2017—there will not be an individual goal for each TIP type. Instead, organizations will be ranked solely on overall net-effective rate. At year-end, UHC will make a $15,000 donation to the American Diabetes Association on behalf of each of the top two organizations in each size category.

GENERAL UPDATES

MTM Madness 2017

This month, 16 pharmacies faced off in the inaugural MTM Madness competition. Pharmacies were pitted in head-to-head contests focusing on a different service type each week. We've seen powerhouse performances and Cinderella upsets leading into this week's championship round. Safeway Pharmacy 382 and Discount Drug Mart 38 will round out the competition with a CMR showdown, with the winning pharmacy announced on March 28, 2017.

Adherence Monitoring Program Bonuses

Bonus payments from the 2016 Adherence Monitoring Program will be paid in the April check. To be eligible for a bonus, pharmacies must have completed the initial TIP and all subsequent quarterly checkpoints while helping the patient meet or exceed the target PDC for the year.

2017 CMR Warm Leads

The CMR Warm Leads initiative is back for 2017. Throughout the year, OutcomesMTM places IVR calls to select CMR-eligible patients to offer a CMR. When a patient says yes to the offer, we fax their information to the primary pharmacy. IVR calls began this month, so remind your pharmacies to look for these faxes, typically sent on Tuesdays. Ensure they take prompt action on these warm leads, as patients may be forwarded to another provider after 14 days of inactivity.

Your network representative can provide a master list of leads sent to your pharmacies.
