Effective July 1st, 2017, WEA Trust members will be subject to Opiate daily dose and quantity limits for ALL FIRST-TIME Opiate prescriptions. The morphine equivalent dose is 60mg combined with a 7-day supply limit. There is also a fill limit of 2 fills, same MED and days’ supply within a 60 day period. Exemptions are: members with a diagnosis of cancer, sickle-cell anemia, or palliative care, or enrolled in hospice. For members being discharged from orthopedics with a tapering opiate regimen, an override will be available with a days’ supply not to exceed 21 days.
