APCI Announces an Expanded Partnership with PrescribeWellness

APNS Striving to Become the Strongest Performance Network in the Industry

BESSEMER, AL – February 25, 2015 – American Pharmacy Cooperative, Inc. (APCI), one of the country’s largest member-owned group purchasing organizations, announced today plans to expand its current partnership with PrescribeWellness, the cloud-based services company whose mission is to empower the pharmacist’s ability to provide preventive healthcare services in their community.

“We’ve enjoyed a tremendous first year with PrescribeWellness. From the launch of our strategic partnership last summer, we’ve delivered on our commitment to equip our members with tools they need to improve the medication adherence of the patients they serve,” stated APCI Chief Operating Officer Susan Maze. “We are ready to take our relationship to the next level and offer our members more tools and additional programs to help them succeed as both healthcare providers and as business owners.”

“We are committed to the success of both APCI and their member pharmacies,” announced Tony Thuyen, PrescribeWellness Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer. “Star Ratings and related measurements are increasingly becoming the determining factors for all healthcare providers, so it is critical for independent pharmacies to build patient relationships focused on medication adherence and chronic disease management. APCI and PrescribeWellness continue to develop new ways to support APCI members in their effort to do so.”

The expanded partnership includes significant performance rebates for pharmacies achieving an overall rating of 4.0 or greater in the five quality measures impacting pharmacy.

The performance incentives will be officially announced to the APCI members attending the company’s annual trade show in Birmingham on February 27, 2015.

“PrescribeWellness is providing our Managed Care network– American Pharmacy Network Solutions (APNS) – members the tools they require to identify patients that need additional support or a pharmacist’s intervention,” continued Maze. “With the easy-to-act-upon data from PrescribeWellness and the support of the APCI Managed Care team, our pharmacies will soon be top performers in every one of the quality measurements. Plus, our aggregate data will give us the insights we need to report our success as a performance network.”
