Drugmaker Merck announced price increases on several of their vaccines, along with a limited-time discount for APCI members.

New pricing for PNEUMOVAX®23 (Pneumococcal Vaccine Polyvalent), RECOMBIVAX HB® [Hepatitis B Vaccine (Recombinant)] 10 mcg/1mL, and VAQTA® (Hepatitis A Vaccine, Inactivated) went into effect as of 4 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017.

However, Merck is providing eligible APCI member pharmacies with a 14 day discount on these vaccines, effective with the price increase. This "Fourteen Day Discount" will be provided as a discount, equal to the amount of the price increase, off of the Merck catalog price at the time the order is placed and accepted by Merck. In short, eligible pharmacies will be able to purchase the Product at the pre-increase price through August 23, 2017.
