2017 Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training and NEW NCPDP Attestation Process

**ACTION REQUIRED**

 There is a NEW process in place for 2017 FWA pharmacy attestation.

 

Failure to complete this step may result in loss of pharmacy’s NCPDP affiliation and ability to process claims for 3rd party contracts.

 

Attached please find step by step directions for how to submit FWA attestation via your NCPDP profile platform - https://online.ncpdp.org/

 

This is mandatory and must be completed prior to 12/31/2017.

 

Important Attachments:

  • 2017_CMS FWA Training Presentation
  • 2017 FWA Individual Employee Form– To be kept on file at the pharmacy  for each employee
  • 2017-Step by Step NCPDP_FWA Attestation guidelines via the NCPDP profile platform

 

Required Action to Take:

  • Provide FWA training to all employees by using the attached 2017 FWA presentation before 12/31/2017
  • Have each employee complete and sign a copy of the attached FWA Individual Employee affidavit to be kept on file at the pharmacy before 12/31/2017

 

Required Next Steps:

  • NEW for 2017 – In addition to FWA training of all employees and their attestations to be kept  on file at the pharmacy,  each pharmacy is required to complete FWA training attestation through NCPDP. 
    • Again, this is mandatory and must be completed prior to 12/31/2017.
    • Failure to complete this step may result in loss of pharmacy’s NCPDP affiliation and ability to process claims for 3rd party contracts
