This is a reminder of Medimpact’s policy on auto‐ship based on the 2014 CMS Call Letter. The 2014 CMS Call Letter contained a provision that prohibits pharmacies from delivering medications, whether new or refill, without beneficiary authorization for each fill. This means that Medicare Part D members may not be placed on auto refill programs that include auto shipping, even if they previously requested or provided authorization for placement on such a program.
