Urge CMS to Adopt DIR POS Proposal!

Author: APCI Staff/Tuesday, December 19, 2017/Categories: APCI News

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently proposed regulations that would explore requiring PBMs in Medicare Part D to account for pharmacy DIR fees at point of sale. CMS says that while the proposal would lead to modest increases in monthly premiums, these would be more than offset by savings at the pharmacy counter. According to CMS, it would result in net patient savings of $10.4 billion over 10 years.

NCPA will also be submitting comments to CMS. If you are a pharmacy owner/manager, please take a few moments to complete a brief survey and let us know how DIR fees are impacting you and your patients. Your input will help guide our comments.
