Effective Jan. 12, Express Scripts clients can participate in a program that will require Estrace® Cream be dispensed over its generic equivalent. For clients that select this program, the appropriate brand-name drug and a Dispense as Written (DAW) code of 9 "Substitution Allowed By Prescriber but Plan Requests Brand - Patient's Plan Requested Brand Product To Be Dispensed" will be required on the claim submission.
