Express Scripts - TRICARE Pharmacy Copayments

Effective Feb. 1, 2018, the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) requires TRICARE to change its prescription copayments. TRICARE pharmacy copayment changes impact all beneficiaries except Active Duty Service Members, dependent survivors of Active Duty Service Members, and medically retired service members and their dependents.

What is Changing

Copayments will increase for prescription drugs at TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery and retail network pharmacies. Medications at military treatment facilities will still be available to TRICARE beneficiaries at no cost.

Retail pharmacy copayments for up to a 30-day supply:

• Generic drug copayments increase from $10 to $11

• Brand-name drug copayments increase from $24 to $28

• Non-formulary drugs will increase from $50 to $53 (NOTE: Non-formulary drugs are generally only available through TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery.)
