Aetna Better Health of Florida is an existing plan sponsor with CVS Caremark®.

Effective February 19, 2018, CVS Caremark will add Benzodiazepine/Opioid to its DUR edits. This edit will apply to Aetna Better Health of Florida and Florida Healthy Kids. Concomitant use of benzodiazepines and opioids may lead to serious adverse events such as extreme sleepiness and respiratory depression. In order to improve patient safety, this edit will reject all therapeutic duplication and drug to drug duplication claims for any combination of opioids and benzodiazepines filled within sixty (60) days of each other. The claim will reject with the following or similar message:
