Please review the attached memo from CMS, related to upcoming changes to the Eligibility Verification (E1) transaction responses from the Transaction Facilitator (RelayHealth).

Per the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization ACT (MACRA) of 2015, Social Security Numbers (SSN) will be removed from all Medicare ID cards by April 2019. As a result, the SSN-based Health Insurance Claim Number (HICN) will be replaced by the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI).
