Starting on April 1, 2018, all short acting opioids were limited to a 7 day supply for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) Covered Person’s first fill unless otherwise described below. After a fill of 7 days or less, subsequent prescriptions will process without the restriction. Blue Cross NC Covered Persons with a prescription history of an opioid in the past 180 days with the same Blue Cross NC plan will not be subjected to this limitation.
