GA Pharmacy COVID-19 Vaccination Info

Author: APCI Staff/Thursday, October 8, 2020/Categories: Professional and Clinical Affairs

As we prepare for an eventual COVID-19 vaccine, we want to ensure that APCI member pharmacies are eligible to participate in the distribution of the vaccine when it becomes available.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, enrolled mass vaccinators will assist the department's immunization program to eligible populations. Registration with the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS) is required, along with completion of an online survey that will update demographic information in GRITS and the state's vaccine management database.

We understand that the COVID-19 vaccine effort will also include supplies such as syringes and alcohol swabs used to sterilize multi-dose vials. The Georgia Department of Health is separately planning to provide supplies that pharmacies can order to help with the vaccines, and supplies like sharps containers, gloves, bandages, etc., can be obtained from the state free of charge. Additionally, the vaccine will be free and they state is currently trying to iron out any administration fees they can offer pharmacies for participation.

If you are interesting in possibly participating in the immunization effort, please complete the information requested at the links below:
