As support continues to grow in Congress for significant pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reform, bipartisan lawmakers, led by Representatives Jake Auchincloss (MA-04) and Diana Harshbarger (TN-01), will hold a press conference TOMORROW, Sept. 19, to discuss HR 9096, the Pharmacists Fight Back Act.

The Pharmacists Fight Back Act is proving that PBM reform is an issue that attracts bipartisan support from lawmakers, with 23 Representatives signed on to the bill as cosponsors. Representatives Auchnicloss and Harshbarger will be joined by lawmakers from both sides of the aisle to review how the Pharmacists Fight Back Act will rein in price gouging and other abusive PBMs practices. Representatives scheduled to appear include:

  • Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA)
  • Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN)
  • Rep. Jerry Carl (R-AL)
  • Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC)
  • Rep. Nikki Budzinski (D-IL)

Additionally, independent pharmacists and pharmacy owners from Illinois, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Missouri, Alabama, and Georgia will speak about how PBM practices negatively affect their patients and small businesses.

WHEN: Thursday, September 19 at 12 noon ET / 11 a.m. CT

WHERE: House Triangle, Washington, D.C.
