The 2015 2nd Special Session of the Alabama Legislature convened on Tuesday night is hopes of passing a General Fund Budget, which the Legislature has failed to accomplish in the Regular and 1st Special Sessions this year.

MAJOR CHANGE: Effective for check writes July 24, 2015, and thereafter, Providers’ 835 electronic remittance advices will NOT be available to providers immediately following the check write.

Effective July 1, 2015, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama will be changing the coverage criteria for Non Part D compound claims.

Effective May 1, 2015, generic Adderall XR® (Amphetamine-Methamphetamine SR) will not be covered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama until multiple manufacturers become available or the price decreases. The innovator product Adderall XR® will remain on the Blue Cross formulary. Coverage of Adderall XR® will be dependent on the member’s benefit.
