Budget talks between the House and Senate broke down late last night. Legislators have been told there are no further talks scheduled at this time. The plan appears to be to come to Frankfort tomorrow for what will be the last day of the Regular Session.

This past week has been one of the most interesting weeks of the session thus far. On Tuesday, the House introduced an Impeachment Resolution against Governor Robert Bentley, which was as you might expect is a very hot topic.

HB 58, by Rep. Ron Johnson, which would exempt prescription drugs from the calculation of business license fees when they are based on gross receipts passed the House yesterday by a vote of 77 – 5.
