The mission of APCI’s Legislative Affairs division is to promote and protect the political and economic interests of all APCI members. In order to accomplish that mission, Legislative Affairs:

  • Provides lobbyist and/or legislative assistance in all APCI member states
  • Identifies pharmacy-friendly political candidates and generate funding to support them
  • Contributes to state associations and organizations with similar legislative focus
  • Identifies political leaders to meet and key meetings or conferences to attend
  • Establishes routine and structured legislative meetings in each state
  • Leverages APCI account representatives and staff personnel
  • Utilizes APCI's Board of Directors to attend selected legislative events
  • Encourages APCI member participation and support of NCPA
  • Maintains a Washington, D.C., presence, supporting NCPA and developing direct relationships

Kentucky Legislative Update 2.12.16

Legislation to update Kentucky's existing Maximum Allowable Cost (MAC) transparency law was referred to the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee on Thursday, after the Cabinet for Health and Family Services Cabinet stated that SB 117 would increase cost for Kentucky's Medicaid program.

Alabama Legislature Report 2.12.16

The second week of the 2016 Regular Session was filled with many more bills being introduced and more talk of passing a General Fund Budget early. Most of the talk was centered on the Republicans House Lottery Bill which was voted out of committee and might reach the floor next week.

Alabama Medicaid to sponsor statewide series of provider forums

A statewide series of 15 provider forums will be held in February and March for physicians, hospital officials and other interested healthcare professionals who want to learn more about how the Agency’s implementation of Regional Care Organizations will impact them.

NCPA Advocacy Center Update 2.8.16
