Yearly Compliance/License Review

Author: Jessica Bohm/Wednesday, August 3, 2016/Categories: CAPS

CAPS would like to take a moment and remind everyone about some of the yearly compliance requirements.  It is recommended that all pharmacies take a minute and double check that these documents are not expired or the required training has been completed.  Failure to perform the required training could be a breach of contract and lead to potential fines or termination from contracts.

Here are some of the yearly training requirements and general reminders for pharmacies:

1. Annual Fraud, Waste and Abuse training.

2. Annual Medicare Compliance training

3. Annual HIPAA training

4. Annual Pseudofed training/Self Certification

5. State/DEA licensing renewals, if applicable

6. Pharmacist/Technician license renewal, if applicable

7. Yearly controlled substance inventory, as applicable

8. OIG/GSA Exclusion list (monthly review required)

It is recommended that all pharmacies take a minute and double check that these documents are not expired or the required training has been completed.  Failure to perform the required training could be a breach of contract and lead to potential fines or termination from contracts.
