On August 8, 2016, PharmaTech announced a recall of all liquid products produced from October 20, 2015 through July 15, 2016 because of a risk of product contamination with Burkholderia cepacia.

Per PharmaTech, use of a product with B. cepacia may result in serious infections that could be life-threatening in patients with compromised immune systems and in patients with chronic lung conditions such as cystic fibrosis.

OptumRx notified members who may be affected by this recall. These members were advised not to use the recalled product. In the future, these members may inquire about one of the liquid product prescription(s) you dispensed.
