Jerry started his pharmacy career in 1970 and has operated Duren Pharmacy in Waynesboro, TN since 1994. His background includes professional experience in both hospital and independent pharmacy.

Jerry received his B.S. of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and is certified in diabetes care, smoking cessation therapy, hormone replacement therapy, and pharmaceutical compounding (PCCA).

He is a member of the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy Alumni Board and the Tennessee Pharmacists Association. He serves on the Natchez Trace Maternity Center Board of Directors, is Past President of the Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce and Jaycees and is Past Chairman of The Pharmacy Cooperative.
