APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS Caremark®: United Airlines - New RxGroup Number

Effective January 1st 2017

As previously communicated, effective January 1, 2017, United Airlines will have a separate ID card for the pharmacy benefit. It will no longer be combined with the medical ID card. There will also be a change to the Rx Group number. Members will be moving from RxGroups RX1168, RX1178, RX1176, RX1177 or RX1178 to RX0403. Please update or create member profiles to reflect the following changes to the pharmacy benefit managed by CVS Caremark®.

Envolve Pharmacy Solutions: URGENT FDA NOTICE: RECALL - Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection, USP by Hospira: Particulate Matter in Vial

NDC: 0409-6510-01, Lot 591053A, Expiry Date November 1, 2017

Hospira, Inc. is voluntarily recalling one lot of Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection, USP (NDC: 0409-6510-01, Lot 591053A, Expiry Date November 1, 2017), to the hospital/retail level due to a confirmed customer report for the presence of particulate matter within a single vial. The product is packaged in a carton containing 1x100 mL vial. The lot was distributed from August 2016 through September 2016 in the United States.

Please immediately check your medical supplies, quarantine any of the affected Vancomycin product.

Express Scripts: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas - City member ID cards delayed

Blue KC member ID cards are delayed

Due to the high volume of new small groups being implemented, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) group activation is taking longer than normal and production and distribution of Blue KC member ID cards are delayed.

Members who are covered under one of these groups but haven’t received their ID cards yet will need to pay for the cost of their healthcare services and/or medications. Then they can submit a claim form to request reimbursement under their Blue KC coverage.

Members can refer questions to their employer, or contact Blue KC at 800.288.1436.
