On December 15, 2016, an authorized generic of EpiPen and EpiPen Jr (epinephrine injection) is expected to become available to the market. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama will cover the authorized generic, epinephrine injection, with a preferred brand copay*. Brand name EpiPen and EpiPen Jr will no longer be covered.

Effective January 1, 2017, Prime Therapeutics (Prime) will begin processing Medicare Part D and Part B claims for Lovelace HMO and HMO POS Covered Persons of Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) Blue Cross Medicare Advantage Select (HMO) and Flex (HMO POS).
