APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS Caremark: Envolve Pharmacy Solutions - Sunshine State Health Plan, Inc.

Effective January 1st 2017

As previously communicated by Envolve Pharmacy Solutions and CVS Caremark®, Ambetter from Sunshine Health began using the CVS Caremark pharmacy network on June 4, 2016, while claims processing and payment remained with Envolve Pharmacy Solutions. This notice is to inform you that effective January 1, 2017, CVS Caremark will begin to process claims for Ambetter from Sunshine Health. All claims for Ambetter from Sunshine Health will now be reimbursed according to your CVS Caremark Network Enrollment Forms and be paid according to CVS Caremark processing rules and payment cycles, which will appear on your CVS Caremark 835 or remittance advice.

Please update or create plan member profiles to reflect the claims processing changes and note new phone numbers included in this communication.

OptumRx: UnitedHealthcare - Duplicate Medications Resolution Process for Louisiana

Effective December 1st 2016

Effective December 1, 2016 you will be required to review the flagged medications and resolve any duplication in the system when the pharmacy system alerts you to duplicate medications using reason code TD (Therapeutic Duplication) for Louisiana UnitedHealthcare Community Plan members.

Code TD is a safety edit that compares the member’s current medications to the drug you are processing. It flags any patient request to fill a medication within a class of medication already filled within the last 30 days. The flag requires you to research why the patient is attempting to fill another medication in the same class so quickly. This TD safety edit previously went live with the Antipsychotic and Respiratory Drug classes and now includes the Diabetes and Opioid drug classes.
