APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS/caremark: Dose Optimization Aetna Better Health of Kentucky

Effective: March 1, 2016

RXBIN: 610591 RXPCN: ADV RXGRP: RX8831 Effective March 1, 2016, Aetna Better Health of Kentucky will implement the Dose Optimization Program. The intent of the Dose Optimization Program is to reduce the number of medication doses a member takes by offering the choice of switching to a single daily dose at a higher strength. If a member is taking a drug that qualifies for potential dose optimization the claim will reject with the following message: <<USE HIGHER STRENGTH, 1 PER DAY QUESTIONS CALL X-XXX-XXXXXXX>> Please reprocess the claim using the higher strength/reduced quantity after contacting the Prescriber as needed and informing the patient. If you need assistance with an override, contact the Pharmacy Help Desk number indicated in the reject message.

CVS/caremark: Texas Workers' Compensation Informal Network Reporting

The Texas Legislature passed House Bill 528 (effective July 17, 2011) which included certain notice requirements to health care providers by informal or voluntary networks for workers’ compensation. In that regard, the following information is being provided to you with respect to CVS/caremark’s CareComp network: If you have any questions regarding the CareComp Network, you may contact: Rich Conway, Sr. Advisor Product Development, Network Services 9501 East Shea Boulevard Scottsdale, Arizona 85260 or (800) 364-6331 (Pharmacy Help Desk) The CareComp network is utilized for workers’ compensation claims with the following Texas insurance carriers through CVS/caremark’s client Corvel Corporation which is effective from January 1, 2016, to June 30, 2016.
