As a reminder, CVS/caremark is dedicated to assisting Providers and Eligible Persons in response to emergencies resulting from natural disasters, severe weather, etc. where medical records are either destroyed or not accessible. In the event of a presidential (or other governmental) emergency declaration, CVS/caremark will allow an override code to override the refill-too-soon edit. Allowances for non-Medicare Part D plans may vary by Plan Sponsor.

As you may have heard, CMS released a preview of the 2016 Medicare Part C & D Star Ratings (see attached) to Part D plan sponsors, which included the Star Rating cut points for the new Part D Star measure—MTM Program Completion Rate for Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs). As performance expectations heighten with the release of this new data, pharmacies with limited resources may begin to look at outsourcing MTM opportunities to a vendor.

Over the weekend, Viva Health experienced an adjudication error to their Tier one drugs which have a zero copay for members at preferred pharmacies.   CVS Caremark incorrectly coded the preferred network and many of Viva Health's members were required to pay a $4.00 copay in error.  This error took place from 1/1/2016 until mid-morning 1/3/2016.  The problem has now been corrected.  

McKesson has been notified of 1 product family representing 3 items that increases in price on January 1, 2016. A customer's purchase of these items will be covered by the Price Assurance Promotion for 30 days following the price assurance start date.
