APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. CVS/caremark: State Re-enrollment Required for Texas Medicaid Providers

Effective: March 24, 2016.

Please note that due to a federal mandate, all Texas Medicaid providers

enrolled before January 1, 2013, must complete re-enrollment in Texas

Medicaid by March 24, 2016. To be considered fully re-enrolled, providers must

submit a completed re-enrollment application and receive notification from the

Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) that their application has

been approved. To allow sufficient time for re-enrollment application

processing, providers are encouraged to begin this process immediately.

Medicaid providers who are not re-enrolled prior to the March deadline may

experience:

Interruption in reimbursement for Medicaid services

Denial of claims for Medicaid services

Express Scripts: Amerigroup Kansas, Inc. Claims Processing Update

Effective: December 28, 2015

Effective December 28, 2015, Amerigroup will be adding drugs to their

Prior Authorization (PA) program for Medicaid. The goal of this program is to ensure the medication is being used for FDA-approved indications for therapy. PA criteria for the drugs listed in the table on page two of this communication were reviewed and approved by the Kansas Drug Utilization Review Board.

Please note that claims for the additional medications included in the PA program will reject with NCPDP reject code 75 (Prior Authorization Required). Please contact the prescriber for approval.

The prescriber/physician must request prior authorization by calling the Express Scripts pharmacy department at 1.855.201.7170 and following the prompts.
