Information in this week's Advocacy Center Update includes the introduction of a Medicare Part D Any Willing Pharmacy bill, CMS actions agains Aetna, and the release of draft compounding documents.

Due to the severe weather recently experienced in the state of North Carolina, Prime Therapeutics (Prime) has implemented its Natural Disaster Relief protocol to assist our client and their Covered Persons in the affected areas in North Carolina.

Covered Persons of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina may experience difficulty obtaining new prescriptions or refills for lost medication or medications left behind when evacuating their homes.

US Script has been generating payments to network providers in compliance with all state legislations but not in alignment with our contractual payment terms.

Effective 3/1/15, US Script will be paying pharmacies according to the payment terms and conditions of the US Script Participating Pharmacy Agreements which is thirty (30) calendar days following receipt of a claim by US Script. 

US Script will continue to pay pharmacies weekly however your payment for claims submitted on or after March 1, 2015 will be sent on 3/25/15.  After such time payments will be sent weekly according to contract payment terms.

This payment change will not impact payment for US Script clients with state mandated payment terms.
