NCPDP Pharmacy Profile Expansion Announcement

Effective: 1st Quarter of 2017

Dear Valued Partner:

This notification is being sent to you as part of our continuing effort to keep you informed of changes and communications being sent to your pharmacies.  NCPDP is excited to announce its new Pharmacy Profile changes currently in development and launching in the first quarter of 2017.

NCPDP’s Pharmacy Profile has always been the industry standard for self-reported pharmacy data collection.  For several years the industry has been asking NCPDP to create a Standard that would result in the Source of Truth for Pharmacy Network Credentialing.  The NCPDP Pharmacy Profile provides a strong foundation upon which to expand and capture credentialing requirements to meet industry demand.    The primary purpose for adding credentialing information to the profile format is two-fold:

·   Eliminate the current practice of every PBM and payer requiring each pharmacy in their networks to fill out different credentialing forms; and
·   Create a resource to house all 42 CFR 455 Subpart B Disclosure of Information by Providers and Fiscal Agents and E-screening requirements.

NCPDP will be emailing the attached letter to all pharmacies that maintain a profile on Tuesday, November 15.

We will be sending out a series of communications providing more detailed information and guidance to both you and your pharmacies regarding the changes being made to the profile.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, or would like more information on how these changes affect you, please feel free to contact us at:
credentialing@ncpdp.org
Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,

Your NCPDP Customer Service Team
