Effective September 12th 2017
On September 12, 2017, the FDA announced a voluntary recall of some lots of Medtronic infusion sets because a discontinued component, the vent membrane, may be susceptible to being blocked by fluid during the process of priming/fill-tubing, leading to over-delivery of insulin shortly after an infusion set change, resulting in potential hypoglycemia.
