APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS Caremark®: Envolve Pharmacy Solutions - Ambetter from Magnolia Health

Effective January 1st 2017

As previously communicated by Envolve Pharmacy Solutions and CVS Caremark®, Ambetter from Magnolia Health began using the CVS Caremark pharmacy network on May 2, 2016, while claims processing and payment remained with Envolve Pharmacy Solutions. This notice is to inform you that effective January 1, 2017, CVS Caremark will begin to process claims for Ambetter from Magnolia Health. All claims for Ambetter from Magnolia Health will now be reimbursed according to your CVS Caremark Network Enrollment Forms and be paid according to CVS Caremark processing rules and payment cycles, which will appear on your CVS Caremark 835 or remittance advice.

CVS Caremark: Pro-Rated Daily Cost Share

As previously communicated, effective January 1, 2016, proration of a member’s daily cost share (copayment) in order to support the synchronization of prescription fills was implemented by select fully-insured commercial and some State Medicaid and Marketplace Plan Sponsors. When implemented by a Plan Sponsor, this functionality will apply a daily cost-sharing rate to a prescription presented to a network pharmacy that is dispensed for less than the plan-defined one-month supply.
