APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS Caremark: US Script - Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan

Effective January 1st 2017

As previously communicated by US Script and CVS Caremark®, Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan began using the CVS Caremark pharmacy network on July 19, 2016, while claims processing and payment remained with US Script. This notice is to inform you that effective January 1, 2017, CVS Caremark will begin to process claims for Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan. All claims for Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan will now be reimbursed according to your CVS Caremark Network Enrollment Forms and be paid according to CVS Caremark processing rules and payment cycles, which will appear on your CVS Caremark 835 or remittance advice.

Medicare beneficiaries use pharmacy directories to make decisions about their choice of pharmacy, and information in your pharmacy’s NCPDP profile informs those directories. CMS expects information in pharmacy directories to be accurate, and requires Medicare Plan sponsors to communicate with contracted pharmacies on a quarterly basis to verify that information.

Express Scripts: TRICARE Network Pharmacy Announcement

Effective December 1st 2016

Beginning December 1, 2016, Express Scripts will add Walgreens to the TRICARE® retail pharmacy network, which currently includes more than 58,000 retail pharmacies, grocery chains and independents, as well as military pharmacies and TRICARE Home Delivery. Starting December 1, CVS pharmacies, including CVS pharmacies located within Target stores, will no longer be in this network. However, beneficiaries may fill prescriptions at those pharmacies until the effective date.
