APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS/caremark: Reminder Medicare Part D: Maximum Allowable Cost (MAC) Inquiry Enhancements

Effective: January 1, 2016

Effective January 1, 2016, in accordance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations in §§ 423.501, 423.505(b)(21), and 423.505(i)(3)(viii) Part D plans are required to disclose to pharmacies MAC prices to be updated in advance of their use for reimbursement of claims. To comply with these requirements, CVS/caremark Part D Services has implemented enhancements to its Pharmacy Portal/MAC inquiry tool, located at https://rxservices.cvscaremark.com/. The following is intended to assist pharmacies when navigating within the Pharmacy Portal in order to use the Medicare Part D MAC enhancements that will be effective on January 1, 2016.

US Script: New Reject Message

ATTENTION PHARMACIES: Did you just get this reject message? "SUBMIT BILL TO OTHER PROCESSOR OR PRIMARY PAYOR" DID YOU KNOW? If you receive this reject message when submitting a prescription to US Script as the primary carrier, then US Script and Peach State Health Plan have been given an alternative carrier’s insurance information. This alternative carrier should be billed as the primary carrier.

US Script: URGENT RECALL NOTICE : Pramipexole 0.125mg tablet

Effective: February 22, 2016

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a voluntary product recall on February 22, 2016 for the following: Pramipexole tablets 0.125mg 90-count bottles, manufactured by Macleods Pharma USA This recall was due to the comingling of a tablet of Carbimazole with the affected lot. There has been no press release of this recall to date. The product was distributed on September 23, 2015. Some additional details about this recall: • One affected lot number - BPA512A • One affected NDC – 33342-0031-10, expiration June 17, 2016 Please immediately examine your inventory and quarantine all product subject to this recall. If you have further distributed this product, please identify your customers and notify them at once of this product recall. Thank you for your assistance with this recall notification. CVS/caremark: Aetna Coventry Health Care/First Health Medicare Part D Claims Processing Changes
