PerformRx: Compound Kits Changes

Effective: February 12, 2016

The most common compounding kits are for omeprazole and lansoprazole oral solution and Magic Mouthwash. Pharmacies should continue to compound prescription without using the NDC associated with these Compound Kits. Prescription compounding kits contain pre-measured ingredients and other materials used to create a specific compounded product. A few manufacturers produce these kits, and each kit is identified under a single National Drug Code (NDC). NDCs for these kits are listed in the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) drug database with a marketing status of "Unapproved." Therefore PerformRx and its claims processor will no longer process claims using NDC associated with these Compound Kits.
