Since 1984, APCI has been the ‘united voice of independent pharmacy’

APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS/caremark: Aetna Medicare Part D Alert - Changes in drug pricing for 2016

Effective: January 1, 2016

Aetna is committed to helping members achieve and maintain their best health. We appreciate the role you play in helping Medicare beneficiaries get the medicines they need at affordable prices. We want to address concerns expressed about Aetna (and Coventry) Medicare drug pricing for next year. You may see a price decrease at point of sale for certain medications. This is because of two factors:  We worked with your Pharmacy Services Administrative Organization (PSAO) to get the best possible prices for our members.  Starting January 1, 2016, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require that all price concessions, that can be reasonably determined at point of sale, are taken at the point of sale rather than during post-sale adjudication.
