Since 1984, APCI has been the ‘united voice of independent pharmacy’

APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

Catamaran: Cigna HealthSpring - Medication Safety and Adherence Improvement Opportunities Displayed on EQuIPP for Cigna-HealthSpring PDP Medicare Customers

Beginning 4/15/2015

Cigna-HealthSpring PDP is launching a pilot program to a portion of its contracted pharmacies in which Cigna-HealthSpring will provide measurement data through the EQuIPP platform. Beginning April 15th, 2015, the EQuIPP platform will begin to display those Cigna-HealthSpring Medicare PDP customers who use your pharmacy, and are statistical outliers under the adherence measures and/or high-risk medication measures listed above. Outliers include customers who are not adherent to medications from 1 or more of the drug classes listed above and/or have routinely filled medications considered as high-risk or potentially inappropriate for the elderly. In addition to seeing customers who are outliers in these measures, Pharmacies using the EQuIPP platform will be able to document in the dashboard their actions, any suspected barriers to compliance and subsequent outcomes. Please note that the documentation is intended to be direct and brief and is geared towards assisting your outreaches and facilitating coordination among the pharmacists and staff in your pharmacy.
