Since 1984, APCI has been the ‘united voice of independent pharmacy’

APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

OPUS Health System Upgrade March 14th and March 15th

Urgent Notice from OPUS Health System:

As part of our ongoing effort to provide our clients and network pharmacies with fast, reliable and secure processing, there is a system upgrade scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 11:00 PM ET until Sunday March 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM ET.

Though planned to occur at a time where transaction volume is minimal, please note that for the duration of the upgrade, all services will be off line including: claim processing, card activations, web service requests, on-line program inquiries and support systems. We expect all systems to be back on-line and fully functional on Sunday, March 15, 2015 between 10:00 AM ET and 12:00 PM ET.

We appreciate your patience during this transition. Rest assured that every effort is being made to ensure the impact of the transition to our customers is minimal. If you have any questions or require additional information, please call us at 1-800-364-4767 during regular business hours, Mon-Fri 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM ET.

Catamaran: Cigna-HealthSpring Providers - "Over-the-Limit" Transition Fills

REMINDER:  Catamaran pharmacy providers have agreed to follow all federal and state requirements, to include Medicare and Medicaid rules, including accurate submissions and temporary supply rules which are mandated by many of these programs.

To that end, it is important to remember that for persons in transition, who receive a reject message for "Over-the-Limit" for their refills, that you resolve the limit issue and re-submit as timely as possible, preferably same day, but at least within a 24-hour time period. This will help ensure that members receive their medication in a timely manner, with little to no delay.

**Note - Transition fills should be submitted for no more than a 30 day supply (31 if it will be sent to a LTC pharmacy)
