Since 1984, APCI has been the ‘united voice of independent pharmacy’

APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

US Script: Vaccination List Update for CountyCare

Effective: 2/1/2015 BIN: 008019

Effective February 1, 2015, CountyCare will begin covering several new vaccinations. These vaccinations must be administered according to state pharmacy regulations and appropriate dosage restrictions. You are obligated to report the administration of each vaccination within 30 days to the member’s primary healthcare provider*.

Prime Therapeutics: Termination of Coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace

Effective: 1/1/2015

Effective January 1, 2015, in accordance with 45 CFR § 155.430, and at the direction of Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); Prime Therapeutics (Prime) may direct Participating Pharmacies to reverse claims for Prescription Drug Services due to the retroactive coverage termination of Covered Persons in the Health Insurance Marketplace. Prime will provide Participating Pharmacies with any further direction from CMS or HHS at the time of notification, which may include reprocessing the claim under the Covered Person’s new benefit plan. If the Participating Pharmacies are unable or unwilling to reverse impacted claims, Prime will reverse these claims on behalf of the Participating Pharmacies.
