Since 1984, APCI has been the ‘united voice of independent pharmacy’

APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

Prime Therapeutics: Formulary & Utilization Management Change

Effective: 1/1/2015

Reminder: Starting January 1, 2015, Novolin, Novolog, Lantus and Levemir will be the insulin products with preferred brand status for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Commercial formularies. (Novolin and Novolog will be the insulin products with preferred brand status for Exchange Affected Market formularies.)

Effective January 1, 2015, Novolin, Novolog, Lantus and Levemir will be the insulin products with preferred status for Commercial and Exchange Market formularies.  Please see the attachment below for further processing instructions.

Effective January 1, 2015, Health Options will begin using Argus Health Systems to process claims.

Magellan: Tennessee CoverRx - New Plan Information

Effective: January 1, 2015

Effective January 1, 2015, Magellan Medicaid Administration, Inc., d/b/a Magellan Health Services, will assume administrative operation of the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) program for Tennessee CoverRx from the current administrating company, Express Scripts. At that same time, pharmacies will submit claims for payment through the new PBM system. The new system will provide point-of-sale (POS) claims processing.
