APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

CVS Caremark®: CareSource - Children in Custody

Children in Custody (CIC) is a new Ohio Medicaid population that will be enrolled in managed care starting January 1, 2017. These children are in the custody of their local County Public Children Services Agency (PCSA) or County Job and Family Services (CDJFS).

Transition of Care Requirements have been expanded for this population. CareSource is committed to eliminating any barriers to care during their transition, and do not want to turn Case Workers or Foster Parents away without assistance. If you receive a rejected claim message for a CareSource member during the hours of 7 am – 5pm, please reach out to CareSource at 1-800-488-0134. After Hours (5pm- 7am) please reach out to the CVS Caremark Pharmacy Help Desk at 1-800-364-6331. Please indicate you are requesting assistance for a Child in Custody.

Prime Therapeutics: Processing Update for Generic Zetia® for Medicare Part D Covered Persons

Effective December 12th 2016

Effective December 12, 2016, generic Zetia (ezetimibe) became available in the market. Ezetimibe will remain Non-Formulary for Medicare Part D Covered Persons. Please see the attachment below for further processing instructions.

MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. - Alabama PEEHIP

Effective January 1st 2017

MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. on behalf of Alabama PEEHIP would like to inform you that the Alabama PEEHIP member pharmacy ID number will be changing effective 1/1/2017.

Members will be issued new pharmacy ID cards from MedImpact Healthcare Systems with their new member ID number. The new card will be active 01/01/17, so please request the new card information from the members starting 01/01/17.
