APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

August 24, 2016 Dear Valued Provider, Due to system maintenance at Prime Therapeutics, our claims processing system will be unavailable for claims adjudication during the time frame listed below. Saturday, August 27, 2016 11:00 PM -  Sunday August 28, 2016 5:00 AM (Central Time) During this downtime, claims will not be processed.  Please communicate this information to your pharmacies. OptumRx: Recall of Oxacillin Injection by Sagent Pharmaceuticals

Effective:August 17, 2016

On August 17, 2016, Sagent Pharmaceuticals announced a recall of one lot of oxacillin 10 g injection because of a product complaint for the presence of small, dark particulate matter, identified as iron oxide, found within the solution after reconstitution. Per Sagent Pharmaceuticals, administration of metal particulate to a patient has the potential to cause local swelling, irritation of blood vessels or tissue, or blockage of blood vessels. Blockage of blood vessels can lead to serious adverse effects such as organ damage. OptumRx notified members who may be affected by this recall. These members were provided information to help them identify if their medication is being recalled. In the future, these members may inquire about the oxacillin prescription(s) you dispensed. If you have any questions, please call Sagent Pharmaceuticals at 1-866-625-1618 (8:00 am - 7:00 pm CDT, Monday through Friday) for more information about this recall.

PerformRx: AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana

Dear Pharmacy,

AmeriHealth Caritas of Louisiana has temporarily lifted prior authorization and non –formulary edits due to the continued state of emergency in Louisiana.

These claims will now process without any authorization needed. Please be aware that Specialty and Controlled medications will still require authorization. In addition, safety and DUR edits , such as quantity limits and diagnosis requirements will still remain in effect. If you have any issues, please contact us at 1-800-684-5502 for assistance.
