Since 1984, APCI has been the ‘united voice of independent pharmacy’

APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

OptumRx: Pharmacy Help Desk

This is a reminder that the UnitedHealthcare® Pharmacy Help Desk (PHD) is solely for use by our network pharmacies when they need to contact UnitedHealthcare’s pharmacy benefit manager, OptumRx®, to resolve prescription processing issues at the point of sale. The pharmacy help desk phone numbers should not be provided to UnitedHealthcare members. Doing so may increase hold times for pharmacies and could also delay resolution of a member’s questions or concerns. UnitedHealthcare members should call the Customer Service phone number on the back of their member identification (ID) card to have their questions and/or concerns addressed. Please refer to the OptumRx Pharmacy Manual if you have questions related to the use of the Pharmacy Help Desk. TO

Medimpact: Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage and Your Rights form distribution

This is a reminder of the requirement to provide the "Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage and Your Rights" form to Medicare Part D enrollees whose claims are not paid under the Medicare Part D benefit. MedImpact is using NCPDP standard reject/approval codes that inform pharmacies to provide the standard "Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage and Your Rights" form to Medicare Part D enrollees. In addition, there is another MedImpact message to further explain why the notice needs to be provided to the beneficiary.

Attached is the finalized document. This is a standardized notice, the content of which may not be altered. The notice must be provided in 12 point font. The OMB control number must be displayed in the upper right corner of the notice. The fields for the enrollee’s name and the drug and prescription number are optional and may be populated by the pharmacy. Pharmacies may place their logo in the space above the optional fields for the enrollee’s name and the drug and prescription number.
