APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

Change Healthcare (Emdeon): Notification of System Maintenance

Effective: January 22, 2016 - January 23, 2016

Change Healthcare (formerly Emdeon) will be conducting system maintenance on the SelectRx claims adjudication application the weekend of January 22, 2016.  The system will be unavailable Friday, January 22nd beginning at 11:50 pm EASTERN and is anticipated to be returned online late morning on Saturday, January 23rd.   During this time, pharmacy will receive the following rejection response from Change Healthcare’s switch.             ERX03: Connection to Payer Down     We appreciate your patience during this time!

CVS/caremark: New Implementation Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa and South Dakota

Effective: January 1, 2016

Effective January 1, 2016, CVS/caremark began administering the prescription benefits for Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa and South Dakota. IMPORTANT: Member ID numbers begin with 3 alpha characters. Do not submit these 3 digits along with the member ID. Member ID should be 9 digits, alphanumeric. You cannot submit contract numbers or social security numbers, those claims will reject. All Wellmark members are in the RX1021 group. Opus Health: Payment Schedule Improvement

Effective: February 1, 2016

Payment Schedule Improvement Effective February 1, 2016: As you are aware OPUS Health currently reimburses your organization for all successfully processed claims on a bi-weekly schedule, however the payment dates are not consistent month over month. We recognized the challenge this presents with reconciliation of claims and tracking of payments and have made great strides in improving our process therefore simplifying the schedule. Please note the new semi-monthly payment process outlined below. As of February 1st we will convert to a semi-monthly payment schedule with payments (check dates) occurring on the 1st and 16th of each month. ·  Claims received and processed from the 1st to the 15th will be processed for payment on the 16th. ·  Claims received and processed from the 16th to the end of the month will be processed for payment on the 1st of the following month. The last billing cycle for January, currently scheduled to end on February 1st, will be shortened by one day to January 31st allowing the semi-monthly schedule to begin on February 1st.
