APCI began as a small buying group for a limited number of independent pharmacies in central Alabama. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to more than 1,800 members pharmacies in 26 states, and provides its members with a wide range of products and services.

Our mission is to represent the economic and professional interests of independent pharmacies by providing leadership, vision, and a collective voice for our members in the healthcare marketplace. Our goal is to level the playing field for our member pharmacies by providing innovative, targeted programs to benefit our entire membership.

Catamaran: MyMatrixx

Effective: January 1, 2016

Dear Pharmacy Provider: In accordance with Texas Labor Code §408.0281, Catamaran and Matrix Healthcare Services, Inc., DBA myMatrixx, are providing the following notification to their network healthcare providers in the state of Texas. Pursuant to the sixty (60) month agreement beginning January 1, 2011 (01/01/2011-12/31/2016), Catamaran provides myMatrixx with access to its network of providers at the discounted fee rate previously established by Catamaran and its providers. In an effort to comply with this Texas law, we are attaching a list of myMatrixx clients who may access our pharmacy network.

Medimpact: MDWise DAW 6 and DAW 9 Codes

Effective: January 11, 2016

Per Indiana rule 405 IAC 5-24-8(a) prior authorization will be required for substitutable brand name drugs. Beginning on January 11, 2016, MDwise Medicaid (Healthy Indiana Plan and Hoosier Care Connect) prescriptions for which the prescriber has indicated "Brand Medically Necessary" will follow a new procedure for review and determination. Pharmacies will no longer be able to submit the claim with a DAW code of 6 or 9 for these prescriptions. For consideration of ‘Brand Medically Necessary’ claims, the prescriber will be required to submit a prior authorization request. Those requests will be considered within 24 hours. Effective: January 1, 2016

Effective January 1, 2016, members were issued new ID cards with new member ID numbers. If you receive the following or similar reject, ask member for his or her new ID card. Reject 69: <Filled After Coverage Term> If the new ID card is not available, call the Pharmacy Help Desk for assistance.
